I am now accepting commissions for Trompe L’Oeil portraits on canvas. These are not 'posed' portraits, they show an 'event', a little piece of theatre. They are intended to capture the character of the subject –typically, a child or a pet is always up to something! I’d like these portraits to tell that story. 

They are painted on pre-stretched canvases that can be commissioned at any size for any number of subjects. Prices start from around $500.00.　

There are many areas in a house that can be brought to life with the same approach. For example, the art niches that appear in entrance halls and other areas.  It’s hard to actually place a piece of art in them that justifies the space and looks right. Quite often muralists are commissioned to paint Tuscan scenes, Trompe L’Oeil urns or vases for the niche or alcove. But how personal is that to you? I love the idea of somebody opening their front door and seeing something that makes them smile.
